You don’t always need to travel far from London to find an extraordinary setting for a wedding. The Surrey countryside has some beautiful locations, and this summer celebration at Stepstile Meadow was a perfect example — a traditional church ceremony followed by a relaxed reception at the family home.

The marquee, gardens and surrounding countryside gave us a wonderful variety of settings to work with, from drinks on the lawn to portraits in the evening light. And arriving in a vintage Mercedes certainly didn’t hurt the photographs either.

Having photographed weddings throughout Surrey and the Home Counties over the past 17 years, I particularly enjoy celebrations like this where the setting feels personal to the couple rather than simply being a wedding venue.
